Nutcase sponsors Melbourne Bicycle Film Festival 2009
October 2009
Master distributor Eureka Brands’ major brand Nutcase Australasia will sponsor the 2009 Melbourne Bicycle Film Festival (BFF09/Melbourne) held between November 12 and 29th around the city.
The Bicycle Film Festival is an international event founded in 2001 by Brendt Barbur. Compelled to start the Bicycle Film Festival after being hit by a bus while riding his bike in New York City, Brendt wasn’t deterred from his love of two wheels. It inspired him to create a festival that celebrates the bicycle through music, art, and film.
Now in its ninth year the festival is held in 39 cities worldwide and 250,000 people are expected to attend this year.
The Bicycle Film Festival celebrates the bicycle in all forms and styles. If you can name it – Tall Bike Jousting, Track Bikes, BMX, Alleycats, Critical Mass, Bike Polo, Road Cycling, Mountain Biking Recumbents – we’ve probably either ridden or screened it. What better way to celebrate these lifestyles than through art, film, music and performance?
Nutcase Helmets was founded in Portland, Oregon by designer and former Nike Creative Director Michael Morrow.
Launched in spring 2005, Nutcase is sold throughout the United States and the style revolution is taking hold in Canada, throughout Europe, Japan, Australia and beyond.
Co-founder of master distributor Eureka Brands, Kathryn Franco says, “We’re proud to support this year’s Melbourne Bicycle Film Festival. Its vision of celebrating bicycles and bike culture align with Nutcase’s approach to design, passion and street culture.”
