Nutcase supports Manning Kayak Paddle for Peace
October 2009
Master distributor Eureka Brands’ major brand Nutcase Australasia is supporting the Manning Kayak Klan’s “Paddle for Peace” between November 1st and 21st.
The Manning Kayak Klan lead by Simon McGuire will paddle from Byron Bay on the New South Wales North Coast to down to Newcastle, on a 600km adventure to raise funds for V.O.C.A.L – the Victims of Crime Assistance League.
Simon says, ”With this trip we hope to raise money for VOCAL and awareness of the prevalence and impact of violence in our society and more specifically in our homes.”
As a Psychologist, Victims of Crime counsellor, and practicing Buddhist – Simon decided to raise money for the cause after seeing first hand the suffering caused through physical and emotional abuse on many fellow Australians and master distributor Eureka Brands was happy to provide support for this important cause and trip.
“The prevalence and nature of this abuse is disturbing at times and this trip is a way for me to give something additional to assist victims and perhaps even create an annual event to raise people’s consciousness around their own behaviour and the impact it is having.”
As a sea kayak adventure, a set of donated Nutcase Water Helmets will accompany Simon and fellow paddlers on their journey which is expected to take 2-3 weeks.
